In this video, Mary will lead you through the Five Muscles Exercise. When your muscles relax, your emotions and your thoughts automatically relax too.

Here's the exercise:

-
Close your eyes and take a slow gentle deep breath in through your nose.
-
Let your breath out through your mouth, with pursed lips.
-
Do this again, while focusing on relaxing your body from the top of your head to the tip of your toes.
-
Move your attention to your forehead and your eyes. With your eyes remaining closed, relax all the muscles in your forehead and eyes.
-
Move your attention to your jaw. Allow your mouth to hang open a little bit.
-
Focus on your shoulders next. Move them around a little. Think about relaxing them, moving that down through your arms to your hands.
-
Move your focus to your chest muscles. Allow all the tension to melt away.
-
Focus on your lower back and hips. Allow that relaxation to move down toward your legs, down your calfs, feet, toes.
-
Think of your whole body relaxing. Let gravity pull your body down.
-
Finish by taking a slow deep, breath in and out. Let all the tension continue to release.
